Once the New Pool was constructed and the portable fire escape slides had to be adjusted to one side of the Sun Porch, it was more time consuming to exit the building if necessary.
It soon became evident to the membership that constructing a more permanent fire escape exit structure to the building was necessary. The current fire escape was constructed on the back of building. The safety of the Camping Children includes night watch volunteers to stay awake as the children sleep to ensure their safety. Fire escape drills are always a part of the Sokol Children’s Camping sessions.
